Do Less, Better
This week I was inspired by PT and strength coach Dr. Meghan Sak-Ocbina. She posted this: “Most would see the results they want if they did less, better.”
Your body is a pressurized system. All day long, your brain and body have to contend with gravity pushing downwards on that pressurized system. Most humans do not navigate this relationship between internal and external pressure efficiently. Because of this, most of us will feel tight or uncomfortable sitting or standing for long periods of time. We get neck and low back pain and think that stretching or chiropractic adjustments are the answer to these issues.
But what if the answer lay at the root? What if we made sure we were executing the basis of all movement, breath, well? What if we focused on doing less, better? This is what has guided so much of the shift in my teaching over the past few years. My clients want to see changes in their pain, posture, endurance, and general quality of life; those changes start with redefining and refining the basics.
I’m headed to Kauai this week; catch me on Zoom Monday night then I’m OOO Thursday-Tuesday.
