Not A Real Yoga Teacher

Yours truly was on a game show!

A few weeks ago, I shot a video with Jubilee Media's YouTube series Odd One Out, where 1 person is lying about their identity and the contestants have to find out who it is! Seven yoga instructors were brought together, and we had to find the mole!

While it was plenty of fun, and I loved to get to know all of the other instructors, this game was tricky. As we moved through the rounds, it got me thinking, what really makes a yoga teacher?

Throughout the yoga industry, you run into so many different kinds of teachers who train in very different backgrounds - it may be nearly impossible to distill the job down to one specific indicator of authenticity.

Once we were finally mic'ed up and standing in the box, the pressure was on, as was the timer. And almost immediately I found myself judging everyone by the way they stood, their clothing, and every little tilt of the head and eye movement.

This is not a mode that I prefer to operate in; when I move through the world, I try my best not to judge people based on their outward expression. Just as yoga isn't only about the asanas, or physical poses, people are so much more than how they present themselves.

My thoughts on the mole's identity changed so many times throughout the game, but I won't spoil anything - you'll have to watch below to see what happens!
