Change Makes All Things Possible
I've been sitting with this Yung Pueblo poem this week:
“if you spend too much time fearing
change, you will forget to celebrate
it. everything you love and cherish
in life exists because of change.
the continuous back and forth
between endings and beginnings
makes all things possible.”
When change arises in my life, my instinct tends toward control. To dig in and build retaining walls to force life to flow in my desired direction.
But what if I could just observe?
What if I could set down my expectations and my ego and my will and instead experience life as it unfolds around me?
This is a skill we must practice, as we do yoga asana, the postures, or pranayama, breath work. We must practice sitting with ourselves to get comfortable sitting with ourselves and observing the change of life all around us.
How do we practice it? Meditation, baby.
So this week I'm sending you guided meditations from Wah. I highly recommend the entire album Healing Visualizations, but my personal favorite is River of Miracles Parts 1-3. Find the Spotify link to the guided meditations HERE.
