Start Now

Remember when I told you I was scared to leap into the next big thing?

Well I did it. And it was hard, but it clarified a lot of shit in my head. This poem from Nigerian poet Ijeoma Umebinyuo helps me explain why:

“Start now

Start where you are

Start with fear

Start with pain

Start with doubt

Start with hands shaking

Start with voice trembling but start

Start and don't stop

Start where you are, with what you have.

Just...start.”

In other words, action is the antidote.

One of my favorite Instagrammers Dr. Shante Cofield, also known as the Movement Maestro, puts it this way: "If you're unsure about how good you are at something, realize that the conviction won't come from simply thinking about it. You've got to go and get the reps. You must generate proof."

Start now. With hands shaking and voice trembling. Get the reps. Generate proof that you can do the thing.

If you do the thing, hit me back and tell me how it went. We can do hard things together.
